Frank Angelino is a Manhattan food writer who has written for several Manhattan weekly newspapers: The Downtown Express, the Villager and Our Town. His specialty is food articles on Italian products and he has made several food writing trips to Italy organized by the Italian Trade Commission, which resulted in articles published regarding artisanal Italian foods, recipes and culture.


 

Maria Battaglia is a Chicago based journalist. She is an accomplished and decorated food, travel and syndicated restaurant reviewer, and regarded as a leading authority on Italian food, and travel.

She travels to Italy 3 to 4 times a year, and contributes regional articles and photographs to newspapers and magazines.

Maria has traversed the Italian peninsula and has immersed herself in the food, wine, culture, language, the people and Italian lifestyle, which is her passion


 

Roberta Corradin, food writer, fiction writer and journalist, was born in Susa, in the mountain region close to Turin, Italy. She currently publishes food and travel articles on the weekly L'Espresso, the monthly magazines of the financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore (Ventiquattro; I Viaggi del Sole 24 Ore), the food Sunday page ”Affari di gola” on the newspaper Il Giornale. She also publishes on Illywords magazine (in Italian and English) Food Arts and Saveur magazine (in English). Her first book of short stories and recipes, Ho fatto un pan pepato, (I made a spicy bread) was first published in Italy in 1995 and has been translated in German. She edited the English version of Nonna Genia's Classic Langhe Cookbook by Luciano De Giacomi (Carlo Petrini, the Founder of Slow Food, called it "the Bible of Piedmontese Coooking"). She is among the authors of La guida dei ristoranti di Identità Golose. Her next book, on women who cook, Le cuoche che volevo diventare was published in Italy by Einaudi in 2008 and won the Costa d'Amalfi Award for gastronomic literature.


 

Susannah Gold has been a dedicated communications professional for the past 13 years. Currently the owner of a consulting company, Vigneto Communications, Susannah has an extensive background in a number of industries including food, wine, finance, science and technology. Susannah is also one of only a handful of foreigners in the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS). She has also completed her Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW) and Certified Specialist in Spirits (CSS) exams at the Society of Wine Educators, a school in the United States and has her Diploma of Wine & Spirits from the prestigious Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET), a British program. Susannah is a contributing writer to a number of food & wine publications and websites including Food & Beverage Business, Business, and Altacucina. She also has a wine blog called Avvinare.


 

Natasha Lardera is an Italian born journalist & translator imported in the US ages ago. Crafty in the kitchen and critical at the movies, she turned the passion of writing her opinions into a career.

Curious, poignant, she is always on the lookout for that hot topic that will make people talk. She’s been writing on several publications among which The Magazine of la Cucina Italiana, Italian Cooking and Living, Bell’Italia, Film Festival Magazine and America Oggi.


 

Pino De Luca has a great passion for Earth and its products and enjoys eating well and drinking better.

He collaborates with several papers in Puglia, Italy, where he born and raised. Lately he’s been providing il Quotidiano di Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto with recipes taken from the traditional cuisine of Salento. He carefully researches antique books where he rediscovers old recipes as well as all the accompanying ancient condiments.

His partner in crime is Ms. Patrizia Bianco, who actually prepares and tests all the recipes. The flavors are new to those who are not familiar with them, but actually rich in culture and charm.


 

Giuliano Bugialli, cooking educator, TV personality and book author is one of the most respected authorities on Italian food and cooking and has been playing a unique role in educating US consumers on authentic Italian cuisine.

Born in Florence, Bugialli, who grew up in a villa outside the city where his father was a director of one of Italy’s largest wineries, created in 1972 the first cooking school in Italy designed for an international clientele.

His seminars, cooking classes and consulting activities have brought him to hundreds of destinations in the US and Canada. He’s the writer of several books that are a staple in the world of Italian gastronomy and are translated in various languages: The Fine Art of Italian Cooking (1977), Classic Techniques of Italian Cooking(1982), Foods of Italy (1985), Bugialli on Pasta (1988), Foods of Tuscany (1992), The Best of Bugialli (1994), Foods of Sicily, Sardinia and the Smaller Islands (1996), Foods of Naples (2003), Parma: A Capital of Italian Gastronomy (2005).

Giuliano’s numerous honors and awards include the Caterina de Medici Award in 1980, the Tastemaker Grand Prix, the Who’s Who of Cooking in America, the Toque Award of the Book and the Cook for Lifetime Achievement by the City of Philadelphia, and the Fiorino d’Oro Award, presented by the city of Florence.


 

Irene de Gasparis is the Managing Editor and Webmaster of the site. Irene is a seasoned professional with 20 years experience in the media world, in particular in the food and wine industry.
For 10 years she was Associate Publisher for the leading media about Italian cuisine, The Magazine of La Cucina Italiana, Italian Cooking and Living and their very popular site. She served also as executive producer of the nationally syndicated Italian Cooking and Living show, and as General Manager of the Italian Culinary Institute.
Previously for few years, she was the Director of Gruppo Ristoratori Italiani, a non profit organization dedicated to enhance the image of the Italian cuisine in the United States.

Born and raised in Italy, Irene has written hundreds of articles about finance, marketing, food and wine for the leading Italian newspapers and magazines, including a weekly financial column for a local newspaper and a monthly column about personal finance for a national women magazine.
She is a member of the Italian Journalist Guild since 1988 and of the ACINA, the Association of Italian Correspondents in North America since 1992.
She earned an M.B.A from the prestigious Bocconi University, one of the leading European Business Schools, with a full scholarship from FIAT. She has a Bachelor degree in Arts, Economics and Commerce (Economia e Commercio), graduating “magna cum laude” from the University of Rome, “La Sapienza".
